"The challenge remains the establishment of the analysis sector"/

The Head of the Special Prosecution Office, Altin Dumani, has reported to the Laws Committee on the 2024 activity of the institution he heads.

During his reporting, Dumani also spoke about pressure on prosecutors. Pressures which, Dumani said, come from media and political actors.

Further, the head of SPAK stated that one of the challenges is the establishment of the analysis sector and said that the status of employees in the Special Prosecution Office remains at the level of civil servants.

"We are witnessing pressure from media and political actors. The challenge remains the establishment of the analysis sector because SPAK has been active for 6 years. The status of employees remains at the level of Civil Servant. SPAK cannot review cases of foreign institutions because they have been given to the General Prosecutor's Office, for extraditions legal changes are needed in the Criminal Code. Extraditions of citizens from the United Arab Emirates have increased, 8 people have been extradited from Dubai ", said Dumani./CNA
