The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Radio Television Albania, Fatjon Hoxhalli, reported today before the Commission on Human Rights and Public Media.

In his speech, Hoxhalli focused on several issues within the institution and shared figures that reflect the financial situation of RTSH.

Among other things, Hoxhalli stated that the Albanian Radio Television has cost 228 million lek in legal proceedings against those dismissed, while the total number of cases reaches 84 legal cases.

"This part of the report describes not only the program, but also the financial situation. In 2024, it implemented the plan of 3.24 billion lek. 10% of the expenses came from its own revenues. Personnel expenses account for less than half of the budget.

The amount of legal proceedings for those dismissed from work is 228 million lek and is related to 84 legal cases.

The situation is insufficient to cover the cost of operation.

With inflation, prices have increased significantly and this has led to a critical situation. Since March 2025, RTSH has been forced to continue with a plan for reducing not only financial, but also the utilization of human resource skills.

"RTSH has gone through several attempts at reform. Each intervention has aimed to address a real problem, but they have not been within an overall vision," Hoxhalli said./CNA
