The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, announced this morning that the Llogara Tunnel will be opened on July 5.
The works have progressed at a fast pace and, as predicted, the tunnel was opened at the start of the tourist season.
The Llogara tunnel consists of two tunnels, the main tunnel and the emergency tunnel.
Both the main tunnel and the emergency tunnel have 11 tunnels connecting each other.
The minister stated earlier that after the end of the tourist season, with the decrease in the flow of tourists, the works will start again to completely finish the work.
"The Llogara tunnel will be opened for vehicle access, of course with some safety conditions, as we will need it to continue the work in October. When the flow is over, it will be closed again, just as we have done with Orikum-Dukat, just as we have done with the Vlora bypass, so we have them available for passage during the summer, but we close them in October to gave the opportunity to complete all the details, especially those of the parameters inside the emergency tunnel", said Balluku./ CNA
