The lakes of Lukova in Mokre i Pogradec from one year to the next attract local and foreign tourists. Most climb to the top on foot while there are others who use their own tools.

Even these days, there have been many tourists from Fieri, Korça, Tirana, but also other cities who, in addition to walking in nature, also go to the beach in the glacial lakes.

"I often do such trips because I like nature. It's my first time here for hiking and the impressions are wonderful, the water, the springs, but also the colorful vegetation and finally the fantastic lakes here," said a tourist. 

Gani Bego is one of the most passionate about mountain tourism. Together with a group of residents of the area and with the support of Giz, they marked the entire path from Bishnica to Lukova Lakes to facilitate the movement of tourists.

"It is a path about 8 km long. We marked it with horizontal signs according to the Ministry of Tourism, tourist groups follow it without the presence of a local guide. Mostly the majority of tourists are locals, they come even in the winter season, they are not absent either foreign tourists, American, French, from all over the world are interested in visiting Lukova's lakes", he said. 

In order to facilitate the movement of tourists in the areas of cultural heritage, including the monumental tombs of Selca, the Golik Bridge, but also well-known villages of the province of Mokra, the Municipality of Pogradec, in cooperation with adventure sports enthusiasts, is marking of all mountain paths./ CNA
