The policy wishes Muslim believers on Eid al-Adha

On Sunday, all Muslim believers celebrate Eid al-Adha, one of the 2 most important holidays in the Muslim calendar.

The congratulations of Albanian politicians and high officials for this important holiday have not been missing.

President Bajram Begaj says in a post on social networks that Kurban Bayram carries the message of sublime sacrifice, defeating selfishness, anger and greed.

"I sincerely wish Kurban Bayram to the Albanian Muslim believers! Kurban Bayram carries the message of sublime sacrifice defeating selfishness, anger and greed. Kurban Bayram is an act of reason and will, through which we understand the greatness of the divine message and try to fulfill our role to do good and be close to those who do not have the opportunity. Only this reflection of everyone makes a better and fairer society possible. Happy Eid al-Fitr for many years!", writes Begaj.

While the president of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, said that this holiday is a symbol of sacrifices and humanity, precisely from Kavaja, the city symbol of traditions and values.

"Happy Kurban Bayrmain. It is a pleasure to wish you this Holy Holiday, a symbol of sacrifices and humanity, precisely from Kavaja, the city symbol of traditions and values", says Meta.

There was also a congratulation from the Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla.

"On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, I wish the Muslim faithful and the citizens who celebrate and share with them the joy of this beautiful day. This Day inspires us to have the love for God and for each other, to make the sacrifice in the name of the Faith part of life, let's show our devotion to God to those who need us. Health, joy and blessings to everyone!", writes Nikolla on "Facebook".

Eid al-Adha is one of two Islamic holidays celebrated by Muslims around the world, the other being Eid al-Fitr. The holiday, according to Islamic tradition, honors Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of submission to God's command, before God intervenes, through his angel Gabriel, to inform Ibrahim that his sacrifice has already been accepted.

The meat from the sacrificed animal is divided into three parts, the family keeps one part, the rest is given to relatives, friends and neighbors; while the remainder is distributed to the poor and needy.

Otherwise, it is also known as the Eid of the pilgrims, because within the days of this Eid, the ritual pilgrimage to Mecca is also performed.

In the Hijri calendar, Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhul-Hijjah and lasts for four days. In the Gregorian calendar, the date varies from year to year, moving approximately 11 days earlier each year./ CNA
