The General Director of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, hosted the ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia in Albania.

The ambassador of RMV, Dancho Markovski and Rrumbullaku appreciated the good cooperation between the police of the two countries and expressed their willingness to expand cooperation in the future.

During the meeting, it was agreed that during the summer tourist season, there will be joint patrols in the coastal areas of both countries; for the creation of facilities at border crossing points, in order to eliminate long queues, for increasing the exchange of information for the prevention and combating of cross-border crimes, which can be developed by taking advantage of the large flow of citizens entering or leaving, at the crossing points.

Also, the idea of ??opening the border crossing point Trebisht - Xhepisht 24/7 was proposed, to enable the free movement of citizens who live in these areas, who currently have limited movement.

Ambassador Markovski informed the Director of the SPh, the request of the Director of the International Cooperation Center of North Macedonia, to hold meetings with the counterparts of the State Police, in order to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the two countries, not only in within the framework of border management cooperation, but also in the field of organized crime and terrorism. The memorandum will eliminate bureaucracies and obstacles in terms of real-time exchange of information needed for the development of joint operations, for joint border patrols, etc.

The General Director of the State Police assured the ambassador of the commitment of the State Police in the fight against illegality, crime in general and organized crime in particular, as well as the determination of the State Police to work closely with partners, since only thus we can have better results in the fight against organized crime and global crime, in particular cyber crime.

At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador thanked the General Director and congratulated him for the vision and results that the State Police has achieved recently, as well as invited him for an official visit to the Police of North Macedonia./ CNA .co.uk
