Retraining of Drilon in Pogradec/Kumbaro: A new ecotourism hub for the entire

The Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, has inspected the works for the requalification of the park of Drilon, part of the protected areas. Accompanied by Minister Niko Peleshi, Kumbaro said that this will be a new ecotourism pole in Pogradec and in the Korça region.

"We were used to going to Drilon for a walk and for lunch. Practically, attractions will be offered here that you can stay for two or three days, you can stay in the hotels of the area and spend the day in this whole space", said Kumbaro.

She mentioned some of the features that the area will offer such as infrastructure for cycling, bird watch towers, navigable waterways, eco-friendly electric vehicles.

The redevelopment covers 170 hectares of the park and its first phase will be ready to be accessed by the public in the spring.

The project is being implemented in cooperation between the National Agency of Protected Areas and the AADF. All interventions have been made with the aim of preserving the environment and biodiversity of the area, and will be followed by a management plan. This project allows visitors not only to walk on the pedestrian walkway of Drilon, but through passages and bridges to reach the springs of Drilon and Tushemisht./ CNA.al
