"Intense rainfall and landslides"/ IGJEUM warning for tomorrow

Moderate to intense rainfall is expected in the Shkodra and Kukës regions tomorrow.

According to a forecast by the Institute of Geosciences, average rainfall is expected in the regions of Lezha, Vlora and Gjirokastër, while in Dibër, Durrës, Tirana, Elbasan and Korçë, light to locally average rainfall is expected.

It is further stated that tomorrow's storms and high intensity rainfall may create various problems, such as landslides and flooding in localized urban areas.

This afternoon (Wednesday, 25th) no precipitation is expected. Tomorrow (Thursday, 26th) moderate to locally intense precipitation is expected in the Shkodër and Kukës regions. Moderate precipitation is expected in the Lezhë, Vlorë and Gjirokastër regions, while light to locally moderate precipitation is expected in Dibër, Durrës, Tirana, Elbasan and Korçë. The precipitation will be accompanied by thunderstorms.

In the North, East and South East of the country, at altitudes above 800 m above sea level, precipitation is expected to be in the form of snow, more concentrated in the North of the country.

Tomorrow (Thursday, the 26th), storms and high intensity rainfall may create various problems, such as landslides and flooding in localized urban areas, depending on the sewage system in the Shkodra region.
