Today, SPAK questioned Mayor Erion Veliaj for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, where he provided explanations about the investigations.
SPAK has communicated a new charge to Mayor Veliaj. It is learned that a third criminal offense has been registered against him.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has been charged with the criminal offense provided for in Article 324A/2 regarding the introduction of prohibited items into a cell, in prison premises, committed in collaboration.
The punishment for this criminal offense is expected to range from 5-10 years in prison.
This is the third charge against Veliaj, following charges of corruption and laundering of proceeds of crime.
The third charge came immediately after the fact that Erion Veliaj had taken a prison guard's phone and had communicated with other people using his number.
