The new Archbishop of the Albanian Orthodox Church/ Many congratulations

Congratulations on the election of His Beatitude Joan as Archbishop of the Albanian Orthodox Church continue to be numerous.

The Patriarch of Antioch and all the East congratulates His Beatitude and prays for heavenly blessings.

" We joyfully received the news of your election as Archbishop of Tirana and all Albania. We congratulate you and pray to Almighty God to grant you his heavenly blessings to serve the Church that He has saved," reads the congratulatory message of the Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, His Beatitude Ioan.

Another congratulatory message for His Beatitude Joan came from the Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland, Sava.

The Metropolitan of Warsaw wishes that God will help Archbishop Joanin in his ministry.

" On behalf of the Orthodox Church of Poland and personally, I warmly congratulate you on your election as Primate of the Orthodox Church of Albania."

I wish that God will help you in your responsible service, for the good of holy Orthodoxy. I hope that the good cooperation between our Churches, which we developed with the late Archbishop Anastasios, will continue and progress further. Many years, Forthbeatitude!

Archbishop Tikhon of Washington has also sent a congratulatory message to His Beatitude Joan.

The Metropolitan of All America and Canada wishes him blessed years as Archbishop of All Albania and prays that the good relations between the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania and the Orthodox Church in America remain strong.

I am writing to convey my congratulations on your election as Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all of Albania.

The call to the archiepiscopal ministry is always humbling, not only because of the height of the task, but also because of the heavy burden it carries. The fact that your predecessor, His Beatitude, the late Archbishop Anastasios, carried out his ministry with such fidelity, zeal and love, emphasizes even more the greatness of the task entrusted to you.

I am sure, however, that as you receive the Archbishopric Throne of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania from the hand of Christ himself, you can always rely on the example and teachings of your deceased predecessor and teacher, as well as on the experience and intercession of all the holy hierarchs and all the saints. Finally, I assure you that I will pray for you, my brother, as you receive the Archbishopric Throne of Tirana, Durrës and all Albania.

I pray for you and that the good relations between the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania and the Orthodox Church in America remain strong, further strengthening in the years to come, as we continue to seek opportunities for cooperation in proclaiming the Gospel and strengthening the unity of the Holy Orthodox Church.
