"Unprecedented justice reform"/ Gonzato: ILDKPI must strengthen work

The EU Ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, was present at the ceremony marking the end of the vetting process. Gonzato said in his speech that 9 years ago, Albania began a justice reform, unprecedented in scope.

Further, the ambassador said that the independence of the judiciary must go hand in hand with integrity and praised the professionalism of the KPA judges.

Gonzato said that ILDKPI should strengthen its work as an institution regarding asset declarations of incumbent magistrates.

 

“ 9 years ago Albania began a justice reform that was unprecedented in scope. The independence of the judiciary must go hand in hand with integrity. Allow me to appreciate the dedication and professionalism of the KPA judges. The College played a crucial role in ensuring the process. I also express my gratitude to the international observers.

"The ILDKPI should strengthen its work with asset declarations of incumbent magistrates. By acting together, institutions can ensure that the standards set by vetting become permanent features ," Gonzato said.
