RCC wins Prespa Forum Dialogue Award

The Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Majlinda Bregu, participated in the annual Prespa Forum Dialogue (PFD) 2023, which was held on June 15-16 in Struga, North Macedonia.

Beyond the assessment of the RCC's role in the coordination of the regional cooperation process, Bregu participated in one of the Forum's panels together with Prime Ministers Kovacevski and Abazovic and held a series of bilateral meetings with high officials of the EU and the region.

"Thank you Prime Minister Kovacevski. This prestigious award means a lot to us at RCC. The Balkans is a diverse carpet of cultures, languages, but also painful conflicts. But the potential and the need for cooperation lies precisely in this diversity.

Only through dialogue, mutual respect and understanding, can we walk together.

North Macedonia is an excellent example of this and serves as an inspiration for all of us in the process of regional cooperation. This award goes to all those who contribute to promoting and strengthening the climate of cooperation, leaving behind disagreements ", said Mrs. Bregu while receiving the award from the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski.

" Despite the still present problems, regional cooperation is today the most supported mantra and process in the region.

It is no coincidence that year after year we see an increase in citizens' perception of supporting regional cooperation or good neighborly relations. A term that I like even more, because having a good neighbor is important in the life of each of us since the neighbor's door is the first to knock when you need it" .

President Roosevelt is credited with saying:

' To reach the port, you have to set sail. Not by tying to the anchor. But sailing ," said Mrs. Bregu in the panel.
