Highway works/ ARRSH: From today at 23:00, traffic on the Vorë-Durres axis

The Albanian Road Authority announces that from 23:00 tonight until 06:00 tomorrow, traffic on the Vorë-Durres axis will be blocked again.

There will be traffic jams in the Vorë-Maminas, Maminas-Sukth, Sukth-Fllakë, Fllakë-Shkozet Overpass and Shkozet Overpass-Dajlani Bridge segments due to works that have been ongoing for several days.

" ARRSH announces the new traffic management plan for the Tirana-Durrës highway, night traffic jam from 23:00 to 06:00

The Albanian Road Authority, in coordination with the State Police, has decided to change the traffic management plan on the Tirana - Durrës highway, to enable rehabilitation interventions in the section from Vora to the Dajlan Bridge.
A notice published on the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy states that "given the heavy traffic situation on the Tirana - Durrës highway, as a result of interventions to repair the asphalt layers on the Vora - Dajlan Bridge road segment, the Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH), in close cooperation with the State Police, has drafted a new Traffic Management Plan with the aim of facilitating traffic and guaranteeing road safety during the works phase".

According to this plan, starting tonight, October 14, at 11:00 PM until 6:00 AM, a temporary traffic blockade will be implemented in the Vorë–Durrës direction, in the following segments:
* Vorë – Maminas
* Maminas – Sukth
* Sukth – Fllakë *
Fllakë – Shkozet Overpass
* Shkozet Overpass – Dajlan Bridge

The duration of the works is expected to be 1 to 2 days for each segment, depending on weather conditions and work progress.

During the traffic closure hours, road users will have to follow the alternative route:
Vorë – Maminas – Four Roads of Shijak – Durrës.

After the completion of the works on the Vorë-Durres direction, the intervention will continue on the other side of the highway, Dajlanit Bridge - Vorë, following the same work plan and timeline for each segment.

The ARA in its announcement emphasizes that the intervention in this road axis is necessary for the rehabilitation of the infrastructure and the increase of the quality of service for users. The institution requests the understanding and cooperation of citizens, inviting them to use alternative routes during the planned work schedules, to contribute to the smooth running of the process.

"At the end of the intervention, the Tirana-Durres highway will offer a higher standard of safety and comfort, significantly reducing current traffic problems and road surface depreciation," the announcement states. / CNA
