Special Prosecutor Adnan Xholi, present at the Laws Committee, stated that the competition for the director of the National Bureau of Investigation was transparent and lasted 9 months.

Xholi said that 27 correspondences have been exchanged between the General Prosecutor's Office, BKH and KLP on this issue and the High Prosecutorial Council stated that the competition in BKH is the competence of SPAK.

The Special Prosecutor stated that British partners also helped in designing the tests for the candidates.

" The process of selecting the director of BKH has been transparent. The process began at the end of December 2024, where legal provisions were discussed.

27 letters between BKH, SPAK and KLP were exchanged from December to September, 11 of them from December 2024 to July 2025.

The Special Prosecution Office has sent 9 letters to the KLP, the KLP has sent 5 letters. The High Prosecutorial Council has stated that the competence was with the SPAK.

In April 2025, the director of BKH was asked to express interest, she did not express it, and in May the competition was opened.

Tests were conducted, designed with the help of British international partners.

"Tests and verification of assets and clean image were carried out. There was no dissatisfaction, only one of the candidates who was not selected because he did not meet the criteria filed a lawsuit in September," said Xholi.

The head of SPAK said that currently the powers of the director of BKH are exercised by the deputy director.

"The director's powers are exercised by the deputy director and no vacancy is created. The law does not clearly stipulate when the process of selecting the new director should begin. After the former director did not apply, an open call was made," Dumani declared./ CNA
