"I will not run again"/ Dumani: The mandate of 11 prosecutors expires

The Head of the Special Structure, Altin Dumani, declared that after the end of his mandate as special prosecutor, he will not run for re-election.

Dumani reiterated the issue of the uncertainty of the prosecutors' mandate and stated that in just one year, the mandates of 11 prosecutors will expire and it will be difficult to replace them.

For the head of SPAK, this also undermines the investigative process.

"The modest results are the product of the work of 20 prosecutors and investigators of the BKH.

Regarding the mandate of the special prosecutor, I have been vocal. At the end of the 9-year mandate, I will not run again, and I made this pact with myself from the beginning.

11 prosecutors' terms expire within a year, it is impossible to replace them.

Another problem is the disruption of investigations because there are cases that have been going on for years and it takes time for another prosecutor to be appointed.

If it were up to me, you wouldn't have the issue on the table, but it is what the prosecutors have referred to me.

"I'm not talking about automatic reconfirmation, but they should be given the opportunity to re-apply for general jurisdiction prosecutors because maybe we need to see if someone should be reconfirmed or not," said Dumani./ CNA
