Bill: Treason will be punished up to 3 years in prison

Treason will be punished by law.

This is one of the amendments to the Criminal Code, a bill already submitted for discussion.

According to the bill, treason will be a criminal offense punishable by up to 3 years of imprisonment.

Specifically, maintaining two or more marriages at the same time, or cohabitation with one or more partners at the same time, is punishable by a fine or imprisonment of up to 3 years.

And if bigamy will continue even in cases where there was a previous conviction, the second sentence will be from six months to 4 years.

Regarding the term, cohabitation is defined when two individuals have an emotional connection and live as a couple, characterized by a common life, which presents a character of stability and continuity.

Thus, treason will no longer be just a moral problem, but a punishable criminal offense./ CNA
