The Durrës Ecological Park project is in the finals for the prestigious world architecture award.

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced the news in a post on social networks.

He said that the selection committee of the Mies van Der Rohe Prize has appreciated the brilliant transformation of an urban garbage gangrene, which used to serve shameful chronicles for Albania in the world's media, into a banner of ecological and architectural innovation.

"I am really happy to share here the news that our Durrës Ecological Park project is in the final of the most prestigious world architecture award.

The selection committee of the Mies van Der Rohe Award has appreciated the excellent transformation of an urban garbage gangrene, which once served embarrassing chronicles for Albania in the world's media, into a banner of ecological and architectural innovation," writes Rama on social networks.

According to him, this other world-appreciated achievement is just another proof of the winning vision for this country of the Urban Renaissance and of our passion and persistence to raise Albania to a new peak.
