The State Police and the Guard of the Republic announced this Saturday morning the security measures that will be taken for the development of the summit of the leaders of the Berlin Process, which will be held in Tirana on Monday, October 16.
Sokol Bizhda, the Deputy General Director of the State Police, showed the roads in which the movement of vehicles and citizens will be blocked, for the success of the Summit.
In the security perimeter, starting at 20:00 on October 15 until the end of the Summit, on October 16, at 20:00, parking, traffic of vehicles and citizens will be prohibited, but only the movement of citizens who are residents in residential premises within the security perimeter.
Also, Bizhda stated that all businesses located within the security perimeter will be closed.
Planned measures:
- Guaranteeing public order, before, during and after the Summit;
- Organization of police services, to ensure the entire security perimeter of the Summit;
- Ensuring the delegations along the entire passage, from Rinas to Tirana;
-Escorting delegations from Rinas airport to the place of the Summit in Tirana, and on the way back to Rinas;
-Escorting delegations from PKK Morinë, Kukës, to the place of the Summit in Tirana, and on the way back to Morinë, Kukës;
-Escorting delegations from PKK Hani i Hotit, Shkodër, to the location of the Summit in Tirana, and on the way back to Hani e Hotit, Shkodër;
- Ensuring emergency service routes;
- Road traffic management in the city of Tirana, before, during and after the Summit, etc.
Security perimeter:
- "Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard, from Dajti bridge to "Mother Teresa" square;
- "Bajram Curri" Boulevard from the intersection with Elbasan Street to the intersection with "Ibrahim Rugova" Street;
- "Pope John Paul II" street, "ETC-RTSH-Stadium";
- "Ismail Qemali" street, from the Liceu intersection to "Elbasani" street;
- "Mustafa Matohiti" street, near "Kosova" school;
- "Jul Variboba" street, near the post office, Elbasan street and "Papa John Paul II" street;
- "Fatmir Haxhiu" street, to ETC
- "Lekë Dukagjini" street, from "Frederik Shopen" square, to "Air Albania" stadium and around the stadium;
- "Free Ukraine" road.
Roads to be closed on October 16, from 08:00 to 12:00, and from 15:30 to 20:00:
•Rinas - Kashari Overpass - "Durrës - Tirana" highway - former "Shqiponja" square - Tirana ring road - Sauk roundabout - roundabout near the Security Academy - Brigade Palace - "Studenti" city roundabout, until the intersection with "Bajram Curri" boulevard;
• "Bajram Curri" boulevard, from the intersection with "Ibrahim Rugova" street, to Elbasani Street (this ban applies to all types of vehicles);
• "Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard, from the intersection with "Zhan D'Ark" boulevard to "Mother Teresa" square;
• The entire street "Pope John Paul II";
• "Ismail Qemali" street, from the intersection with Elbasani Street, to the intersection with "Ibrahim Rugova" street.
