State Police, in one month/ 73 operations, hundreds arrested, millions seized

New impulses in the leadership structures of the State Police, cooperation with citizens, national law enforcement agencies and with international counterparts, generated positive results for the Police, in the daily confrontation with crime.

Also, the positive experience and cooperation with the partners made the special plans of measures undertaken for the football matches Albania-Czech Republic and Albania-Ukraine to be implemented precisely and as a result, the activities were closed without incident.

During the month of November, the work of the State Police structures in the center, in 12 districts and at all border crossing points, led to the completion of 73 police operations, as well as the arrest of 568 suspected perpetrators of various criminal offenses. .

-Also, 10 operations were finalized in cooperation with partners, for the capture or extradition of internationally wanted persons.

-During this month, 127 kg of Cannabis, 6.1 kg of Cocaine, thousands of doses of these substances, 578 narcotic seedlings and equipment for growing seedlings using lamps in a closed environment were seized.

-Also, 14 firearms, over 1.8 million euros with suspicious sources and 19 properties belonging to a member of a criminal group were seized.

-The operational and investigative structures were committed to the finalization of a series of massive and very important operations at the national and international level, for the attack on criminal groups involved in the production, sale and trafficking of Cocaine and Cannabis, for the attack on corruption, as well as for providing assistance to immigrants, for illegal border crossings.

- 2 attempts to traffic Cannabis were prevented and attacked (one case from Dubai to Rinas, while the other case was via PKK Kapshtica, in Greece).

-Thanks to the timely response of the Police services, as well as based on police intelligence, criminal events were prevented in Dibër and Kurbin, which could have been carried out with weapons and/or fuel.

-Thanks to the professional investigative work, it was possible to solve 1 murder committed in Tirana, the burning of 2 vehicles in Shkodër and a case of arson in Peqin.

- 9 operations were finalized to solve the thefts.

- The commitment of the Border Police hit 5 attempts to pass sums of money through the border crossing points, without declaring them. In this context, 2 successive attempts to smuggle over 1 million euros into Albania were prevented and defeated.

- The Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes in the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with local Police structures, hit 6 cases of cybercrimes, such as: unauthorized publication of intimate materials, blackmail, as well as exchange of money in cryptocurrencies and vice versa.

- From the investigative and operational structures in the districts, massive actions were taken against the illegal organization of gambling, mainly in Tirana, Durrës, Elbasan, Korçë, Vlorë and Fier. Premises adapted for this illegality were discovered, the perpetrators were brought to justice and equipment was seized.

- There were 6 cases in the field of smuggling, as well as 4 cases of providing assistance to immigrants for illegal passage to EU countries.

The Traffic Police has continued the intensive controls and monitoring, in all axes of the country, using the intelligent logistic tools at its disposal, with the aim of preventing road accidents and facilitating the movement of road users. Also, during this month, due to the rain and snow, the Traffic Police has increased its readiness in some axes of the country, to guide the movement, to inform and to offer help when it was necessary.

As a result of monitoring with services and smart devices:

219 drivers were arrested, of which 125 for driving while intoxicated and 94 for driving without a driving license.

As a result of traffic monitoring with intelligent speedometers, 3150 administrative measures have been imposed for speeding over the permitted rates, which have the additional measure of suspending the driving license and deducting points from the driving license.

Also, 24 driving licenses were suspended for driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages and 166 driving licenses for other violations of the Highway Code.

The Border Police has been entirely focused on providing quality, fast and ethical service to citizens entering/exiting, in all border crossings, to guarantee the free and safe circulation of citizens, goods and services, as well as to prevent and crack down on border crimes.

As a result of the work and commitment to fulfill these objectives, 38 cases of illegal border crossing, 14 cases of using false documents to cross the borders and 3 cases of motor vehicle trafficking were dealt with.
