3 police officers suspended from duty

The Police Supervision Agency (Elbasan - Korçë Region) has executed the order of the Prosecutor's Office for the implementation of the decision of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Elbasan, which has imposed the preventive security measure "Suspension of the exercise of a duty or a public service" for police officers suspected of the criminal offense of "Abuse of duty" as follows:

Deputy Commissioner Th.T., with the duty of Specialist for Order at the Elbasan Police Commissariat

Inspector AL, with the duty of Specialist Assistant at the Information Office at the Elbasan Police Station

Inspector AB, responsible for security rooms at the Elbasan Police Department.

Following the in-depth investigative actions carried out by the AMP, it is suspected that these police officers, in failing to properly fulfill their functional duties, through actions and omissions, have not taken measures to prevent the escape from the security/escort rooms of the Elbasan Police Commissariat of citizens NL and EP, against whom the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Elbasan had imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison", suspected of the criminal offense of "Theft by force".

In connection with this event, on 31/12/2024, the Regional Directorate of the AMP made a preliminary arrest for the criminal offense of "Abuse of duty" against the police officer Inspector Dh.D., with the duty of a guard service officer in the escort rooms at the Elbasan Police Commissariat, while the police officers Inspector AH, with the duty of a guard service officer in the Elbasan DVP and Inspector AB, with the duty of Head of the Security Rooms at the Elbasan DVP, were also proceeded with for "Abuse of duty".
