Bird flu breaks out in Gjirokastra. The outbreak was found in the village of Valare, where 20 chickens were buried by the Veterinary Sector. The first suspicions were raised by the owner of the house, Shefiko Graçi, who said that the birds died within a few hours.

"It took 3-4 days, the directors came and each took a chicken and sent it for analysis. I went to open them in the morning, at dinner we fed them corn and wheat, in the morning I found 10 dead. I spoke to the veterinarian and he told me that we would bury the chickens. They told us they were sick, 10 were buried alive, 10 dead."

Krenar Veliu, a veterinarian, said that the burial of the birds was carried out after receiving the results of the analyses conducted at ISUV.

"We sent a chicken for analysis to ISUV on Saturday, and the answer came back that the chickens on the farm were affected by bird flu."


This situation was recorded last weekend. According to veterinarians, quarantine of yard birds has been carried out in the entire area. /CNA
