The year 2024 brought over 11 million foreign visitors to Albania

11.7 million foreign visitors visited Albania during 2024, with an increase of 15.2% compared to 2023.

The Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, made the figures public, stressing that Albania is on a good path in terms of sustainable growth in terms of inflows, and has consolidated a diversified tourist offer.

Beyond the increases in tourist arrivals from the countries of the region, the year 2024 has confirmed the growth and stability of markets from Western Europe such as Italy, Germany, France or Great Britain and has expanded the map of distant markets and brought more visitors from them.

"The consolidation of Western European markets such as Italy, Germany, France, Spain or Britain, in addition to growth from countries in the region and the approach of visitors from distant Asian and American markets, coupled with the extraordinary impact on the economy such as the 3.8 billion euros generated by tourism in just 9 months of 2024 or the increase in the standards of accommodation structures are the best indicators of the vision that is becoming reality, the prestigious promotion and the good experiences created year after year," said Minister Kumbaro.

Earlier, Minister Kumbaro had called the year 2024 as a "trial by fire", for maintaining the successes achieved in 2023 in tourism and according to the data of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment for the figures and the Bank of Albania for economic growth, this year that went showed a steady increase in both aspects./ CNA
