Floods in Vlora/Minister of Defense, Pirro Vëngu introduces the new prefect

The Civil Emergencies Committee met this Tuesday at the Vlora District Prefecture where they also introduced the new prefect Plator Nesturi, who will succeed Kristaq Kiçon in this post.

Also present at the meeting were Defense Minister Piro Vëngu and former prefect Kiço. The focus of the meeting was the latest rainfall situation in the city and its management. After the meeting without the presence of the media, Minister Vëngu responded to the media's interest and disclosed the decisions that were taken.

Minister Vëngu told CNA TV that there were currently no flooded families and said that in order to avoid flooding, interventions will be made to rehabilitate the city's hydropower plant, a project that is awaiting approval from the government.

Regarding compensation for citizens damaged by the October 4 floods, Vëngu said that the entire compensation process for families and small businesses will be completed on January 27./ CNA
