Floods from the rain/ Albania helps Kosovo

As a result of torrential rains - which started yesterday - floods have affected several municipalities of Kosovo.

In order to help the residents of the affected municipalities, the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, announced that his country has sent troops and equipment of the Armed Forces to Kosovo to support them.

"The troops and our means of the Armed Forces, to support the residents of some of the municipalities in Kosovo, which have been very severely affected by the floods, as a result of the extraordinary rainfall", he wrote on January 20 on the social network Facebook.

Vërshimet kanë prekur më së shumti komunat: Skenderaj, Mitrovicë e Jugut dhe Istog, duke dëmtuar ekonomi familjare, biznese, kultura bujqësore dhe infrastrukturën rrugore.

Zyrtarë të komunave më të prekura nga vërshimet kanë thënë të premten se situata është më e qetë.

Qeveria e Kosovës dhe ministria e Punëve të Brendshme thanë më 19 janar se kanë ngritur nivelin e gatishmërisë në të gjitha komunat.

Ndërsa sot, MPB tha se duke pasur parasysh që situata për momentin është më stabile, për shkak të ndërprerjes së reshjeve të shiut dhe rënies së niveleve të ujërave, ky institucion mbetet i angazhuar të sigurojë rrugët kryesore dhe alternative të qarkullueshme, dhe “në koordinim me Ndërmarrjet Publike, të sigurojë ujë të pijes, si dhe të plotësojë nevojat të tjera të mundshme të qytetarëve nga zonat e vërshuara”.
