The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, has declared that it is time for the political parties in the country to find a common language and avoid hatred and disputes.

In his interview for "Voice of America" ??he called on all political forces not to see themselves as enemies, but as opponents of political convictions.

Zëri i Amerikës: Zoti President! Meqenëse edhe ju e përmendët fjalën tuaj në Parlament, ajo që kam vënë re është se në fjalimet tuaja të para ju i keni mëshuar shpesh nevojës që mes partive politike në Shqipëri të ketë dialog. Por në një vend si Shqipëri, ku përvoja tregon se politika është tejet e polarizuar, sa të vështirë e shihni që të arrihet ky paqtim mes forcave politike?

President Bajram Begaj: In implementation of my function as head of state, and in respect of the Constitution, I will be above the parties. In each of my public appearances, even in the Assembly or anywhere, I have addressed the call that it is time that conflictuality, the language of hatred and party grudges, the opposition of words and not of solutions, the fragmentation of political solutions, must remain past. It is time for all of us to work together for the future of this country, for the future of our children. It is necessary for all political forces to regain the spirit of dialogue and cooperation, to see each other not as opponents or enemies, but as opponents of political convictions, with a common mission and goal, the progress of Albania./ VOA
