The draft budget of 2025/Malay: It fulfills two basic objectives
Finance Minister Petrit Malaj stated today in the Economy ...

In the southeast, most households provide heating through firewood to cope with the low temperatures during the winter.
The most difficult age groups to provide firewood remain pensioners and people who live alone in their homes without having the opportunity and help from others.
Families provide firewood in the summer, while now that we are in November, there are also families who have decided not to buy it anymore to save some income, choosing to heat with air conditioners and other electrical appliances.
CNA TV, through interviews with pensioners, highlights their inability with ridiculous pensions to buy firewood, while they shrug their shoulders when we ask them about the help they have from the state.
The elderly show that the best solution is to heat with electricity because you can turn it off at any moment, while the firewood will burn.
"I don't use wood, I heat with electricity. Better with electricity than running away and closing it, while the wood will burn. I have never bought wood."
They say that even the 4.1% increase in pensions is negligible, while as for heating with firewood, they don't buy it alive in the world.
"We don't have the opportunity to buy them ourselves because our pensions, in general, cannot receive more than 100-120 thousand. This raised us 4 thousand Lek, and each category of bread increased by 100-200 Lek. 30 days from 200 lek is 6 thousand, he gave us 4 thousand, it's a shame that I'm minus the pension I had. No, I'm not alive in the world, with a deck and with little electricity, it's not better with electricity we cover ourselves with the deck and wait for the child to be sent to us."
There are pensioners, who live alone, with a pension that leaves very little for food as they spend the rest on medicines.
"Where do I have the money to buy wood, I'm alone because my wife has died. Is it possible for me to get it? My son installed an air conditioner for me, I turn it off, turn it on once. I can't afford 60,000 per meter of wood. With my pension my, if I take away the expenses, I have 70 thousand lek left, what can I eat with that for the whole month?"
"How can I get the wood? I'm alone. How can I do it, it's worse. 53 thousand per meter, and you cut it to 54. How can I afford it? I pay 30 thousand lek for water and electricity, that's all I have left I'm on medication, what should I do?"
Thanks to the help of their children, there are pensioners who will spend this winter with fire, but the latter are in very low numbers.
"My son bought me wood, but I don't know how much he bought it for. I told you what I have, these (clothes) and my pension."
Almost every year in Korça, the price of firewood has increased by up to 200 new lek per cubic meter. This year, a cubic meter reaches up to 60 thousand old lek, which makes it even more difficult to provide wood for the third ages./ CNA
