During his official visit to France, the Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi, and the delegation of the Albanian Parliament were received by the President of the National Assembly of France, Yaël Braun-Pivet. A meeting that confirmed the excellent relations between the two countries, an early friendship that is today in its best days.

President Peleshi praised the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening bilateral relations and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation in the cultural, educational and economic fields, as well as to increase the role of parliaments in supporting the European integration process.

President Braun-Pivet praised the cooperation with the Albanian Parliament and the country's progress towards the European Union. She and the French MPs present at the meeting expressed interest in regional and international developments, including the war in Ukraine, EU enlargement, Albania's role in regional stability, as well as opportunities for strengthening parliamentary and cultural cooperation and the role of the Albanian diaspora in France.

Focusing on the integration process, the Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi, stressed that EU membership remains Albania's strategic objective, while reforms, especially justice reforms, are building an independent and credible system. Speaker Peleshi expressed gratitude for the continued support of France and the contribution of President Braun-Pivet in strengthening interparliamentary cooperation and Albania's European perspective.

President Peleshi emphasized that Albania and France are connected by a historical friendship and strategic partnership, as reliable allies in NATO, and Albania supports Ukraine in defending freedom, territorial integrity and democratic values.

The meeting confirmed the common will to further strengthen the Albania-France partnership and cooperation in the service of European integration and regional stability.
