International Search and Rescue Operation on the High Seas/ Ministry: Checks to

The National Search and Rescue Center (RCC Albania), in close cooperation with the Armed Forces, Border Police and Italian authorities (MRCC Rome, MRSC Bari and MRSC Venezia), has conducted an extensive search operation throughout today for the person reported missing from the international ferry "AKKA".

Operation area: Cape Stillo – Ksamil – Karaburun – Sema Gorge

Controlled areas:

It has been searched intensively in extended sea segments from Cape Stillo in the south, to the mouth of the Seman in the north.

Forces and means engaged:

1 Air Force TB2 Drone

1 UH-60 Helicopter of the Albanian Armed Forces (with 3 personnel)

1 Navy patrol boat P05 (with 4 personnel)

1 water engine (with 2 crew)

4 Border Police patrol vehicles (BP-01, BP-06, BP-09, BP-30) with a total of 13 officers

Balance of the operation:

8 aircraft and naval vehicles

22 officers involved

The operation was conducted in continuous inter-institutional and international coordination, following every search and rescue protocol at sea.

The search will continue in the coming days, depending on developments and sea conditions./CNA
