Fier Prosecution Investigations/ 'Bankers Petroleum' has billed 100%

The Fier Prosecutor's Office listed a series of serious violations for the concession company 'Bankers Petroleum'.

The investigative file of the case emphasizes that the analytical verification of purchases results in the purchase invoices not presenting sufficient identification data for the purchased goods, or the elements that must be completed either on the invoice or in accompanying documents, on the basis of which the accuracy of the company's declarations can be verified.

Also, for the period 2004-2024, 'Bankers Petroleum' has invoiced 100% "Stand by" service, i.e. not performing any service in function of the activity.

In the previous announcement by the Fier Prosecutor's Office, it was emphasized that for a 10-year period, the concession company declared that it had incurred losses, despite continuing to trade in significant quantities of oil and fuel.

The investigations revealed that 'Bankers Petroleum' had committed fictitious fiscal acts and caused millions of euros in damage to the state budget.

"The investigation so far has shown that the company "Bankers Petroleum Albania Ltd", from 2004 to the end of 2024, has been at a loss, which has caused the Albanian state to not benefit from any income for 20 years from this activity, despite the fact that significant amounts of fuel have been extracted and traded in the areas known for oil reserves, Patos-Marinëz-Fier. It has been observed that the company has carried out exports and sales within the country from 2004 to 2024 in the amount of 532,433,614,112 lek. It also results that the company has declared tax expenses in values that exceed income from exports and sales, resulting in a loss in each fiscal year, where the total value for all periods is 11,691,799,688 lek. From the investigation, it is suspected that the damage caused to the state budget, through the benefit of "The VAT is in millions of euros," the Prosecutor's Office said in a statement. /CNA
