Termination of relations with Iran/ Xhaçka: We have consulted with the allies about the decision

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, says that the decision to sever diplomatic relations with Iran was drastic, but the attack was unprovoked.

Xhaçka emphasized that Albania has consulted with NATO allies as well as European partners.

Albania has cut off diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran today as a response to the cyber attack that took place in July. It was an unprovoked and unprovoked attack against a NATO member country as well as an EU candidate. This is a drastic step, but unfortunately the aggressiveness of the attack and the fact that this attack was unprovoked left no room for any other decision. We have consulted with NATO allies as well as European partners.
