The charge d'affaires at the US embassy, ??David Wisner, praised Albania for its role in maintaining stability in the Western Balkans.

During his speech at the inauguration of the air base in Kuçovo, Wisner said that Albania is passing a milestone in its role for peace, freedom and democracy.

Regarding NATO, he said that the alliance is stronger and bigger and with better resources, despite the challenges.

"I will congratulate Albania on the inauguration of NATO's first airbase in the Balkans, and this is a milestone in Albania's commitment to NATO's principles of protecting peace, freedom and democracy and countering threats through prevention and defense. NATO remains the most stable and successful alliance in history. Despite major challenges, NATO is stronger and bigger and better resourced.

I congratulate Albania's desire to expand cooperation with NATO. Let's praise Albania's commitment to fulfilling NATO commitments. Albania is appreciated for its contribution to supporting stability in the Western Balkans," Wisner emphasized./ CNA
