Based on several cases addressed in the structures of the Cybercrimes Investigation and the continuous monitoring of open sources of information, as well as virtual platforms, with the aim of highlighting illegal activities, mainly in the field of cybercrimes, by the Directorate for the Investigation of Crime in the State Police in cooperation with the Sector for the Investigation of Cybercrimes, in the Local Police Directorate of Tirana, masked messages have been found on the communication platform Whatsapp.

These messages convey the request to vote or to register in various fictitious events, where it is claimed that after these registrations, the voter or the person who clicks, will benefit from various benefits.

The purpose of the messages is to direct the account holders towards fraudulent links, the ultimate goal of which is to take possession, in an unjust manner, of the profiles on the Whatsapp communication platform of the deceived persons.

The State Police informs citizens that if they receive such SMS messages, they should delete them and not take any action against them (clicking, filling in data, etc.), which may come from mostly foreign numbers, but also from people who you have a contact on your phone, that your Whatsapp may have been hacked by falling prey to these SMS.

The State Police appeals to those citizens who have fallen prey to these SMS, to appear at the State Police offices at the Cybercrime structures, near each Local Police Directorate to report the cases, in order to identify and punish the perpetrators. this illegal activity.
