Albania has taken an important role in the fight against cyber threats, leading a key project at the Fourth Global Summit on Ransomware Prevention, organized by the White House. This project focuses on the implementation of Recommendation 15 of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), with the aim of strengthening the regulation of virtual assets and related services, to stop the illicit flow of funds that support the ransomware industry.
In the official announcement, the White House emphasized Albania's leading role in this project:
"The project improves the regulation of virtual assets and related services, stopping the illicit flow of funds and disrupting the payment ecosystem that powers the ransomware industry."
This initiative is important to curb the financing of cybercriminal activities and strengthen global security.
Albania, through this initiative, has shown a deep commitment to international cooperation to face the cyber challenges of the 21st century, making a significant contribution to the efforts to stop illegal financial flows and to strengthen the global security infrastructure. / CNA
