The former chief prosecutor of Tirana, Elisabeta Imeraj, has spoken about Russian money in politics, after the news published by the international media, which clearly stated that Russia financed the Democratic Party when it was led by Lulzim Basha.

According to Imeraj, what is most worrying for citizens is the fact that people should know what this money is for, where it is taken from and what it is used for.

Invited to the show "Kontrast", Imeraj raises another doubt, saying that this money can be used to attack prosecutors as well.

"The source of income does not even cover three quarters of those who are not involved in the electoral campaign. What we need to know, as citizens, that the politicians have for us, is to know where they get the money, how they get it and what they use it for.
