The Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all of Albania led the Morning and Divine Liturgy today at the "Resurrection of Christ" Cathedral.

His Beatitude during the sermon emphasized the importance of today's Gospel messages in human life.

Archbishop Joan said that if a person has a pure mind and heart, they see the best in people, and if a person has an evil heart, they see evil everywhere.

Among other things, His Beatitude emphasizes that man must serve God with all his might, mind, and soul.

"Today's Gospel is perhaps the most important for each of us who is in church. First, it tells us that the lamp of the body is the eye. If the eye is pure, everything is pure.  And if the eye is not pure, everything turns into darkness. The Lord is not talking simply about the physical eye but about the spiritual eye, the purity of the mind and heart. If we do not have a pure mind, we also do not see other people well because we are in darkness.

We often project onto others the things we have ourselves. A person who is good tries to see goodness everywhere. A person who has an evil heart sees evil everywhere. Therefore, in this task, the heart must be purified. Having a pure heart, you will seek the good in all other people. Today, he tells us an important word. We cannot serve two masters, God and the world.

If we participate and prepare to serve God, we must give up the things of the world, wealth, power, vain glories and everything else that rules today's world. If one eye looks to the left, the other to the right, that person does not see at all. The same thing happens with the spiritual life. Try to serve God with all your strength, mind and soul. If these things are done, God will reward you", said His Beatitude, Archbishop Joan. /CNA
