Former RENEA officer Paplekaj released from prison/ Durres Court decision

The decision of the Durrës Court to release Arbër Paplekaj, accused of the murder of Pjerin Xhuvani, has been made public.

In the decision released, the court has granted Paplekaj conditional release for the remaining 6 months of his sentence.

For this period, Paplekaj must serve probation and not commit any other criminal offense.

Paplekaj was serving his sentence in Durrës prison.

 

Court decision

 

DECISION

1. Acceptance of the applicant's request AP

2. Conditional release of the applicant (convicted) AP, for the remaining unserved portion of 6 (six) months and 1 (one) day of imprisonment.

3. Based on Articles 61 and 64 of the Criminal Code, the applicant AP is obliged to maintain contact with the Durrës Probation Service during a period of 6 (six) months and 1 (one) day and not to commit another criminal offense during the above probation period.

4. Based on Article 60, point 9 of the Criminal Code, the AP applicant is obliged not to associate with convicted persons during the probation period.

5. AP's release from the Durrës Penitentiary is ordered if he is not detained or convicted of any other criminal offense.

6. A copy of this decision is sent to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Durrës for implementation.

7. An appeal may be filed against this decision at the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction of Tirana within 15 days from the day after the communication of the decision.
