Archbishop Anastasios in critical condition/ Bishop Joani and Bishop Nathanaili,

The Metropolitan of Korça, His Holiness Joani, and of Amantia, His Holiness Nathanaili, visited today the "Evangjelizmos" Hospital where, since January 3, 2025, the Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania, His Holiness Anastasios, has been receiving treatment in critical condition.

The Metropolitans of our Church met with the Professor of Pneumology and Director of the Intensive Care Unit of that Hospital, Mrs. Anastasia Kotanidhu, to express the interest of the Holy Synod of our Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania and, on behalf of the entire Orthodox community, their thanks and gratitude for all the care and love shown for Archbishop Anastasios.

At the same time, they conveyed the prayers of the entire flock throughout our Church for the Archbishop, as well as the support of the medical staff who, with integrity and professionalism, continue their efforts to rehabilitate his health, despite aggravating factors.

The two Metropolitans also met at the Hospital with the Bishop of Kruja, His Grace Anastasius, and the clergymen Protopresbyters Haralambi and Spiridhon, who accompany the Archbishop, expressing their spiritual solidarity with them.

During their stay in Athens, the High Priests of our Church also visited the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Eminence Jeronimo, who in the first days visited Archbishop Anastasios in the hospital, and is continuously following the progress of his health and the love expressed through prayers throughout the sister Church of Greece./ CNA
