KPA finally dismisses Shkodra prosecutor

The KPA issued the decision on the final dismissal from the justice system of the Shkodra mayor Franceskina Lekani. The KPA decided to uphold the decision to dismiss the Independent Qualification Commission of 2023. The previous decision had found problems with property and a conflict of interest situation during the exercise of her duties.

"The adjudicatory panel of the Special Appeals Chamber, composed of Natasha Mulaj as chairperson, Ina Rama as rapporteur, Albana Shtylla, Rezarta Schuetz, Sokol Çomo as members, announced the decision on case no. 9/2024, dated 12.03.2024, which concerns the appeal of the reassessment subject Franceskina Lekani against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission no. 721, dated 06.12.2023.

At the end of the trial in the deliberation room, the panel, based on Article 66, point 1, letter “a” of Law No. 84/2016, “On the temporary re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”, unanimously decided:

"The decision no. 721, dated 06.12.2023, of the Independent Qualification Commission, concerning the subject of the reassessment, Franceskina Lekani, is in effect," the KPA announcement states. /CNA
