Smuggling of valuable jewelry/ 7 people under investigation in Tirana

The police have started investigations against 7 people, as they smuggled valuable items (jewelry) of a protected brand for which they did not have customs and tax receipts. 

During the action, the police seized a significant amount of valuables. 

Police Notification: 

The operation developed by the Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Sector in the Tirana Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Special Operations and Investigation Force Sector, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office of the Judicial District of Tirana.

7 citizens were criminally prosecuted for selling valuables (jewellery) of a protected brand, suspected of being smuggled, for which they did not have customs and tax receipts.

Specialists of the Sector for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime, in cooperation with the Sector of the Special Force of Special Operations and Research, following the work and successive strikes for the prevention, evidence and attack of criminal activity in the field of smuggling of goods, finalized the operation coded police "Second hand".

As part of it, citizens GS, 36 years old, FD, 27 years old, MB, 44 years old, IB, 37 years old, FS, 29 years old, II, 33 years old, FA, 46 years old, all residents of Tirana, were criminally prosecuted.

These citizens traded in their 7 stores, traded valuables (jewelry) of a protected brand, suspected to be smuggled, for which they did not have customs and tax receipts.

Considerable amounts of valuables were seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for further procedural actions. /CNA
