The head of the Teachers' Union, Sandër Kovaçi, in his speech before the teachers, said that the salaries are not in line with the labor market.

He said that Prime Minister Edi Rama misunderstood their demands, as he called them ultimatums.

 "There have been misunderstandings about the content of the petition, there have been suggestions that the proposal ends with a manifesto. We have said that it is not about a teacher's salary to support his family, but to be dignified. We asked for a 30% increase this year and 20% next year. Starting from the economic crisis, we have reduced the demand in solidarity with this situation.

The prime minister called our requests an ultimatum, but we ask the prime minister to look at the university with a different eye. Today the situation of the professorship is in a different state and no request has been taken into account and there has been no increase. If we compare it with Kosovo, the time has come not to say that we should make Albania like all of Europe, but make it like Kosovo", he said. /CNA.al
