Afrim Qendro has been appointed by Prime Minister Edi Rama to head the National Inspectorate of Territorial Protection (IKMT), replacing Dallëndyshe Bici in this position.

He takes over the leadership of the institution after a long career in public administration and in the leadership structures of local and central government.

Held several important duties/ Who is the new chief inspector of IKMT?

Most recently, Qendro held the position of Prefect of Tirana District, a position from which he left after being appointed as Chief Inspector of IKMT.

Over the years, he has held a number of important positions, building a consolidated profile in the field of public administration and institutional management.

In his political engagement, Qendro has been the electoral coordinator of the Socialist Party in the Tirana and Vlora districts, as well as a member of the Socialist Party's National Assembly, where he was ranked among the most voted in the Tirana Assembly.

His career includes leadership positions as head of Enterprise No. 1 in the Municipality of Tirana, head of the Construction Inspectorate of Tirana, head of the Albanian Road Authority, deputy mayor of the Municipality of Vlora and, most recently, Prefect of the Tirana District.

With this extensive experience in administration and in the infrastructure and territorial sector, Afrim Qendro now takes over the leadership of IKMT, a key institution in the control and implementation of legality in the field of construction and territorial protection.
