OSCE presence in Albania

The presence of the OSCE in Albania has reacted after two important events that happened today, the EU-Western Balkans summit and the act of violence against the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.

The OSCE expressed its congratulations for holding the summit and at the same time stressed its sadness for the incidents that occurred during the protest.

"Congratulations to Albania for the successful holding of the EU-Western Balkans summit and for the large security operation that accompanied it. We are sad, however, about the incident during the opposition protest. Freedom of assembly is a fundamental good of democracy. We wish the injured a speedy recovery and call on everyone to avoid speculation and self-righteousness while the investigations continue," declared OSCE./ BA - CNA.al
