The International Police Association (IPA) – Albania Section held an important meeting in the city of Korça, attended by representatives from various Balkan countries. This event served as an opportunity to strengthen international cooperation between police forces, as well as to promote Albanian values ??and culture in a broader context. The President of IPA Albania, Skënder Doda, during his speech, emphasized the importance of this association, which is part of IPA World – an international organization founded on January 1, 1950, immediately after the Second World War. With over 500 thousand members in 68 countries, IPA is today one of the largest organizations of its kind in the world and operates under the motto “We serve through friendship”.
" IPA Section Albania is part of IPA World - the International Police Association worldwide, which was founded on January 1, 1950, 5 years after the end of World War II. A chaotic situation, with hatred, with anger, because war has these, and an English policeman remembered and created the International Police Association, which in its mission has the approach of all police officers on duty, released or retired to be together. It is one of the associations that ranks among the largest in the world, with over 500 thousand members in 68 countries and in its logo bears the phrase "We serve through friendship"" , said Doda.
The holding of this congress in Korça was not accidental. As one of the most well-known cities for its rich culture and traditions, Korça offers an ideal environment to host delegations from the region and beyond. Doda emphasized that this event had brought to the city not only participants from the Balkan countries, but also many tourists from Croatia and other countries. He thanked the Municipality of Korça, the General Directorate of the State Police and the Ministry of Interior for the support provided, emphasizing that the hospitality and culture of this city had left special impressions on the guests.
" This congress is the next congress and we decided to hold it in the city of Korça, also based on the desire to promote the values ??of Albania even more because we have participants from the Balkan countries here. Along with our guests, many tourists from Croatia have also come and for this I thank the Municipality of Korça, the General Directorate of the State Police, and the Ministry of Interior. I have seen in all the guests that they admire Korça and it is known that Korça shares a truly civic culture ", said Doda.
In his speech, Doda also spoke about the challenges faced by police officers, not only in Albania, but all over the world. He emphasized that, despite the many difficulties, police officers continue to perform their duties with dedication and professionalism. Doda described police officers as “blue angels”, underlining that, despite not always satisfactory salaries and daily challenges, they continue to sacrifice for security and order. In addition to its role in strengthening ties between police forces at the international level, IPA also plays an important role as an organization that provides support and assistance to its members.
"In every country in the world, police officers are underpaid and face hardships. I have a long career in the State Police and I know what it means to be a police officer, to do your job and to be correct with the law, where sometimes in turbulent situations it is very difficult, but if there are angels on earth, police officers are blue angels. Despite the fact that the difficulties are such that not everyone can be satisfied with the salary, with the difficulties, police officers still sacrifice. This is true. On the other hand, since we are within the IPA, it also serves as an anti-stress association where people gather, colleagues meet not only in Albania but also in other countries where police officers go and find strong solidarity in the police of other countries ," said the president of IPA Albania.
The meeting in Korça once again showed how important cooperation and support between law enforcement agencies is, as well as creating opportunities for the exchange of experiences and strengthening ties between colleagues from different countries. In a world where security and justice challenges are ever increasing, organizations like IPA play a key role in building a climate of trust and cooperation among police forces globally./ CNA
