Incidents at the Namazgja Mosque during the protest / The Muslim Community of

The Muslim Community of Albania has issued an official response regarding the events that occurred yesterday evening near the Namazgja Mosque, when believers were praying the Tarawih prayer.

The KMSH expresses indignation at the injury to believers, while condemning the incident that occurred near the Mosque. In response, it calls on the actors involved to show restraint, so that their actions do not violate the rights and freedoms of our believers or any other citizen.

OFFICIAL REACTION:

The Muslim community of Albania has been closely following the event that occurred yesterday evening near the Namazgja Mosque, at a time when believers were praying the Tarawih prayer.

We express our deep indignation at the unjustified injury to believers, who were in the mosque premises to perform their religious rites in peace and tranquility.

The Muslim community of Albania has always been a moderate and restrained factor in its public stances and reactions. However, this moderation should not be misinterpreted as tolerance of the violation of the constitutional rights and freedoms of our believers.

In this sense, we firmly condemn the incident that occurred on February 20, 2026 near the Namazgja Mosque, where innocent believers were injured for no reason.

We call on all actors involved to show prudence, responsibility and restraint, so that their actions do not infringe on the rights and freedoms of our believers or any other citizen. / CNA
