Involved in the Fieri Incinerator affair/ Regan Merdani is arrested

Durrës police arrested 32-year-old Regan Merdani, who was involved in the Fier incinerator affair. The Court of Appeal in Tirana has sentenced Regan Merdani to 3 years in prison for the criminal offense of "Creating fraudulent schemes related to value added tax". 

"Regan Merdani, 32 years old, a resident of Tirana, who was located and arrested in district no. 4, after the Court of Appeal, Tirana, sentenced him to 3 years in prison, for the criminal offense of "Creating fraudulent tax schemes on added value". "Investigations for the 32-year-old began in 2016, and as a result, it was proven that this citizen committed VAT fraud through a business in the fields of production and trading of food products," said the police announcement. 

Earlier SPAK clarified that Klodian Zoto, Arenc Myrtezani, Regan Merdani, Gentian Zifla, Enver Sheshi, Robert Shabani, have organized and put into operation fraudulent schemes related to value added tax, with the aim of material profit on behalf of the concessionaire company "Integrated Technology Waste Treatment Fier" sh.pk, which consisted of the benefit of crediting the value added tax.

All the activity took place between March and May 2017, where "Integrated Technology Waste Treatment Fier" sh.pk, made fictitious purchases from the companies "Best Services" sh.pk, with legal representative Robert Shabani, "Froggy" sh.pk, with administrator Regan Merdani, "Frogy 03" sh.pk, with legal representative Robert Shabani, "Itneg" sh.pk, with administrator Gentian Zifla, "Leli-17" sh.pk, with administrator Enver Sheshi; "Pupa Services" sh.pk, with legal representative Regan Merdani; "RB-General Servis" sh.pk, with legal representative Regan Merdani and "RSI&T Group" sh.pk, with administrator Robert Shabani./ CNA
