Cybercrime is on the rise.

This fact was announced by the General Prosecutor, Olsian Çela, who claims that this is normal due to digitalization.

"In fact, cybercrime is on the rise and it is normal because more and more part of the life that citizens do takes place in digital forms, so everyone is more accessible and can be attacked. But what we have done at least is that we have focused especially on the specialization of prosecutors in the field of cybercrimes. But this is only one aspect because the essential thing is that we must have specialized sectors in the State Police for cybercrime and their professional growth is very important. The prosecution does not have the opportunity for such a sector due to the nature of how it works", he said during the annual report to the Law Commission.

Çela emphasized that the results of the authorities in the fight against cybercrime have not been high, since it is a new type of crime.

"If we refer to the figures, we have a relatively low effectiveness and this is a consequence of various factors that it is a new nature of crime. Even today, the specialized law enforcement institutions are efficient, but this does not happen only here, it happens all over the world", emphasized the General Prosecutor./ CNA.al
