Over 100 residents in the district of Kukës appeared in the city emergency yesterday with diarrhea and other signs of poisoning, while after receiving medical services, they left again for the apartment.

The first suspicions came that the poisoning may have occurred due to drinking water. Regarding the situation that has caused a lot of panic among the citizens, Albert Shehu, an emergency doctor at the Kukës Hospital, also reacted.

Shehu showed that only yesterday, 125 patients were presented at the Kukës Hospital.

" Yesterday, about 125 visits were performed throughout the day from 8.00 to 20.00, somewhere around 80 percent presented with intoxication, which includes diarrhea and vomiting, and some of them had a fever ," said Shehu.

In an announcement on social networks, the Water Supply and Sewerage Company in Kukës announced that the samples taken from the water in advance look colorless and odorless.

However, for the safety of the residents, the water supply has been interrupted until the answer of its analysis by the IPH./CNA.al
