The Court of Tirana declares incompetence for "January 21"/ Sends the file to SPAK

The Court of Tirana has declared incompetence for the case of "January 21" and has sent the file to the Special Prosecutor's Office.

The Supreme Court asked to clarify the role of former officials who are suspected of involvement in the event of January 21, where 4 protesters were killed.

Concretely, the role of Sali Berisha, Lulzim Basha and Ndrea Prendi in this matter should be clarified.

Regarding "January 21", the Strasbourg Court gave the opinion that it was a 'state crime'. The "Strasbourg" decision of November 14, 2023, called for the punishment of those responsible for state crimes.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, and Prime Minister Edi Rama have requested that the investigations into this file be started as soon as possible and that those responsible be brought to justice./  CNA
