GJKKO rejects the request of Sokol Mjacajt

On Monday, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime rejected the request of Sokol Mjacaj, who requested removal from the 41 biss regime.

Sokol Mjacaj entered the regime, after killing Arben Lleshi and injuring Ilir Xhakjan with a firearm in Peqin prison last year. 

The event happened while Mjacaj was serving a life sentence in Peq for the murder of two Czech tourists in Prekal of the Great Highlands in 2015.

"At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with a panel composed of judge Erjon Bani, based on articles 112 and 471 of the Penal Code, with decision No. 25, dated 25.03.2024, decided: Dismissing the request of the applicant Sokol Mjacaj. Court costs to be borne by the applicant. Against this decision, an appeal can be made to the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime within 15 (fifteen) days, starting from the day after the announcement of this decision", announces GJKKO./ CNA
