The former mayor of Rrogozhina, Ndriçim Dushku, has been sentenced by GJKKO to 1 year in prison, converted to 1 year and 4 months of probation.

He was found guilty along with 3 other officials of the Rrogozhin municipality for leasing agricultural land.

The news was announced by journalist Anila Hoxha, who stated that the decision was made in December 2023, away from the attention of the media.

"He was investigated for leasing agricultural land. It is about the 99 years scheme. There are also citizens who signed, were interrogated and the investigation proved their guilt. This happened in 2013, when he was the mayor of Rrogozhinë. For this reason, the court has sentenced him to 1 year in prison, which has been converted into 1 year and 4 months of probation," she said.

The journalist emphasized that the investigations for this scheme are also being done for other municipalities of the country.

"The scheme of leasing agricultural land for 99 years is used throughout the country. But there are doubts and investigations are being carried out in other municipalities as well, with the suspicion that they were given to people unfairly, by filling out fictitious files. They have planted different crops, but they have not received any documentary practice", underlined Anila Hoxha./ CNA
